McRae in line for GB job

Australian Shaun McRae is the favourite to become the next coach of Great Britain's rugby league squad after the Rugby Football League confirmed it wants the job done on a fulltime basis.

The move means Brian Noble, who had combined the role with coaching Wigan, will not be offered a new contract. McRae is available after recently stepping down as director of football at club South Sydney.

If appointed, it will be the second time and Aussie has coached the Lions after former St George Illawarra and Newcastle mentor David Waite held the position prior to Noble.
