Round 4 - Full Time :: April 7th, 2007 Melbourne Storm 22 defeated Newcastle Knights 12
A error riddled match in Newcastle tonight resulted in Melbourne Storm remaining undefeated so far this season by beating the Newcastle Knights 22-12 in Newcastle, after being locked up at 12 all at the halftime break.
The game was certainly a stop/start affair with referee Steve Clark stamping his authority throughout the match coupled with unforced errors by the two teams. A short sharp rain shower early in the second half adding to the ball handling problems both sides seemed to be having.
Scoring starting early in the game with the Storm sensation, Israel Folau netting the first of his two tries in just the 6th minute of the match.
The game tied up at the break, 12 all.
A try to former Knights player Anthony Quinn, almost from the kick off sent out danger signals however the second was not very exciting with both sides guilty of unforced errors, Slater constantly under pressure at the back of the Storm pack. The slippery conditions adding to the problems both sides had in retaining their possession.
3 minutes from fulltime the Storm finally sealed the game when Folau crossed over for his second try of the match.
Melbourne go home with the points from the match however the victory was far from the convincing win we have become accustomed to from the Storm pack, with Newcastle pushing them all the way. The return of Buderus a definite bonus for the home side.

Two very focused sides take the field in Newcastle. Andrew Johns out of the game with a neck injury obtained during a training session.
Apart from the Johns injury, the teams are as named. Expect a great battle between Buderus returning for Newcastle, and the in form hooker, Smith for the Storm.
