Meninga optimistic about Hannay

Queensland coach Mal Meninga remains optimistic centre Josh Hannay will overcome a virus and take his place in tomorrow night's State of Origin series decider at Melbourne's Telstra Dome.

Queensland rushed Bulldog Willie Tonga into camp today after Hannay fell ill overnight. While Meninga is hopeful of Hannay playing, Queensland team doctor Roy Saunders rates his chances as less than 50/50.

Hannay, who is on medication, failed to train but Meninga said he would give the Cowboys' centre up until just before the match to make a decision. Queensland got the feel of Telstra Dome with their final training run this afternoon but Meninga says they may have an unscheduled run tomorrow to give Tonga the opportunity to run with the team.
