Millward named Cowboys deputy

Ian Millward will be deputy coach under Graham Murray at the North Queensland Cowboys from next season after signing a two-year deal. The Australian returns from a successful stint in the English Super League to replace Cowboys assistant Neil Henry, who takes over Canberra's head coach reins next season.

He enjoyed a stellar run with English heavyweight St Helens, winning five major titles in as many seasons. Millward controversially left to join Saints' arch rival Wigan early this season but was dumped after nine games following the Warriors' worst start to a season in 20 years.
