Mogg set for the Storm

Queensland's State of Origin hero Adam Mogg said he will be focused and ready for the Raider's round 15 clash against the Storm this weekend, despite the huge week he has just gone through in the lead up to, and including Game II of this year's series.

Mogg said his feet are firmly planted on the ground after Wednesday night's two try performance, and he is ready to tackle the Storm head on Sunday afternoon.

"It's great to be back home and around the boys you train hard with every week," Mogg said. "I'm looking forward to getting stuck into Melbourne this week."

Mogg said the chance to increase the Raiders winning run to four has been a huge incentive for the side this weekend, but he is aware of how hard it's been in the past for a Canberra side to get a win against Melbourne, especially at their home of Olympic Park.

"It's a big game and the Storm are the favourite at the moment as they are playing really good footy," he said. "It will be a big challenge that I'm looking forward to it."

Mogg said the Raiders should have been celebrating players being picked for representative duties earlier in the season, and he hopes his selection will lead to other Canberra based players gaining the recognition they deserve.

"We wear our hearts on our sleeves every week when we run out," he said. "Hopefully a few guys who should have been in Country Origin this year get a bit more notice and we get a few players in the future."

Raiders Captain Clinton Schifcofske said the past three week's for the Raiders have really boosted the whole team's confidence, and he expects things to improve even more with another Raider win on Sunday.

"We've had three really close wins and the sort of wins you can draw confidence from," Schifcofske said. "We are at the halfway point of the season and we are in pretty good shape."

Schifcofske hinted to a similar situation last season where the Raiders were on the ropes due to an alarming injury toll, but said there were positive signs this season that the reverse is happening to that statistic.

"I think the coach said this time last year we were falling apart a bit," he said. "This year though we've had a few blokes who have had injuries coming back into the side, with Troy Thompson, Jason Smith, Tom Learoyd-Lahrs and Moggy back from origin, so it's a positive step."
