Morley to miss Broncos showdown
after pleading guilty

Sydney Roosters hitman Adrian Morley will miss the Sydney Roosters' National Rugby League showdown with Brisbane on Friday night after pleading guilty to a high tackle.

Morley accepted a one-match ban for a grade two careless high tackle on Wests Tigers prop Corey Pearson in the premiers' 30-22 loss at Campbelltown Stadium on Sunday. Had he challenged the judiciary and lost, the Great Britain Test forward would also have missed the Roosters' local derby against South Sydney in round 17.

Canberra forward Tyran Smith and New Zealand Warriors back rower Sione Faumuina also pleaded guilty to grade two careless high tackles today. Smith received a one-game ban for his high shot on Warriors hooker Tavita Latu in Canberra's 22-14 loss at Ericsson Stadium on Sunday.

Faumuina's clean record enabled him to escape suspension despite pleading guilty to an illegal tackle on Canberra's Alan Tongue.
