Newtown Jets Ready To Rumble For 2004.

The Sydney Airport Jets begin their 97th Rugby League season with a NSWRL Premier League trial match against fellow 1908 foundation club Balmain at Henson Park this coming Saturday, February 7.

Newtown takes on the Tigers in a NSWRL Premier League trial at 5pm on Saturday, with a Jim Beam Cup trial match curtain-raiser against Ryde-Eastwood kicking off at 3.00pm.

Newtown coaches Colin Murphy and Trevor Schodel and their training staff have had the Jets working hard since early November, and this is the first chance for supporters to see the 2004 squads in action.

The Sydney Airport Jets 2004 trials program is as follows -

Saturday, February 7 at Henson Park: Newtown v. Balmain, 5pm; Newtown v. Ryde-Eastwood at 3pm. Saturday, February 21 at Henson Park: Newtown v. North Sydney; the main game at 5pm is the first leg of the 2004 Frank Hyde Cup series. Curtain-raiser at 3pm. Saturday, February 28 at Henson Park: Newtown v. Wests (Newcastle), 5pm; Newtown v. Narellan at 3pm. Saturday, March 6 at Henson Park: Newtown v. Melbourne Storm, 5pm; this will be Newtown's first home game at Henson Park against full-on First Grade opposition since 1983, and will be an absolute must for all Jets fans to attend. Weekend of March 12/13/14: Both the NSWRL Premier League and Jim Beam Cup competitions commence.
