The Brisbane Broncos says there's no axe hovering over Wayne Bennett's head despite former skipper Gorden Tallis saying the coach will have little choice but to quit if his NRL side flops in 2006.

Tallis believes Bennett has put himself under enormous pressure by sacking Kevin Walters, Gary Belcher and Glenn Lazarus from his coaching staff following another finals collapse last year.
