No Saints on Roo Tour

St George Illawarra centre Mark Gasnier has withdrawn from the Australian train-on squad because an ongoing knee problem. The news means that there will be no Saints players representing Australia on the upcoming tour of the UK.

Gasnier is the third Dragons player to withdraw from the Kangaroos - Shaun Timmins (knee) and Luke Bailey (ear operation) withdrew last month.

The last time the Dragons were without representation on a Kangaroo Tour was in 1994 when utility forward Brad Mackay was controversially omitted from the squad.

The St George club has enjoyed a long history of representation going back to 1921 when George Carstairs and 'Rickety' Johnson were selected for Australia in the club's inaugural year in First Grade.
