Sonny Bill Williams led the Mitsubishi Electric Bulldogs Premier Cup Team to a 46-20 demolition of the St George Illawarra Dragons. Playing at Belmore on Saturday in a triple-header against the Dragons the Bulldogs scored nine tries to four in a very impressive performance.
The demoted Sharks hooker Dean Treister played with an animated pride and passion, helping guide the Sharks to a convincing 52-20 victory. Halfback Michael Sullivan and forwards Junior Paulo, David Tangata-Toa and Shaun Wessel played leading roles in the win.
The Sydney Airport Jets claimed their first win of the Premier League season in defeating Manly-Warringah 30-16, in the match played at Brookvale Oval on Easter Sunday.
The Balmain Tigers were their own worst enemies in going down 30-8 to the Sydney Roosters at Aussie Stadium on Friday night.
The match was tight for the first 25 minutes but some poor ball control and numerous play the ball penalties gave the Roosters enough possession to rack up 3 tries and lead 18-2 at half time.
