NZRL Calls For End Of Season Test
Matches

New Zealand Rugby League wants more tests against Australia at the end of NRL seasons.

NZRL chairman Sel Pearson says the Kiwis' win over the weekend proves test matches must be played in October.

Pearson says it is unfair to sneak the internationals in in mid-season when the Australians have a huge advantage playing off the back of the State of Origin series.

He says it is imperative any future tests are played at the end of the year, to make sure the Kiwis are not stitched up with a mid-season calendar.

Pearson is also demanding more tests from next year onwards saying Kiwi fans want internationals so supply has to meet demand.

He says fans proved over the weekend that they love test matches, so New Zealand needs to host more games.
