NZRL have Benji on their Tri-Series
wishlist

Wests Tigers five-eighth Benji Marshall looks set to be the next player the NZRL approaches as they strive to get a competitive side together for the upcoming tri-series.

It is expected Marshall will be asked to delay shoulder surgery to play alongside Stacey Jones in the opening match against Australia in Sydney after the departing Warriors halfback announced yesterday he would come out of international retirement to play for the Kiwis.

Jones declared himself available for the southern leg of the tournament in Sydney and Auckland, and New Zealand officials are now hoping Marshall and injured Bulldogs lock Sonny Bill Williams will follow to form what would be a dream scrumbase combination.

Marshall confirmed last week he was due to have an operation on his troublesome right shoulder after the Tigers' finals campaign.

Kiwi coach Brian McClennan has contacted Karmichael Hunt's manager to advise the door would always be open for the Brisbane fullback if he wanted to play for his country of birth.
