Paul Anderson lines up
Huddersfield move

Former Great Britain prop Paul Anderson is to take up a coaching role with Huddersfield at the end of the year.

St Helens forward Anderson, who recently announced he would retire at the end of the season, will take up a post as one of Jon Sharp?s assistants in December.

The 34-year-old has agreed a two-year contract with the Giants and will work alongside the club?s current assistant coach Kieron Purtill.

Anderson said: ?I am excited about the next stage of my career and delighted that it will be with Jon Sharp and the Huddersfield club.

?My energies are solely channelled into Saints and finishing my playing career with Super League and Challenge Cup honours.

?The coaching career is now set in place and I will be ready for that challenge in December. For now it's all about finishing off with the Saints and me playing my part in achieving our goals here.?

The powerful, 18-stone front rower made his name during a highly successful spell with Bradford after earlier stints with Halifax and Leeds. He moved to St Helens last year and has made more than 300 first-team appearances in his career.

Sharp said: ?I am delighted that Paul will be joining our coaching staff. He has had an outstanding playing career and I have always been impressed with his professionalism both on and off the pitch.

?Paul will bring to the Giants a wealth of experience at the top level and he will be an invaluable member of our coaching staff for Super League XII.?
