The Sydney Roosters have confirmed the signing of promising young hooker James Aubusson for three seasons.

Aubusson will return to the Roosters in 2008 after two years at the Melbourne Storm, where he has learnt his trade under Australian hooker Cameron Smith. As Smith's understudy he has only played just two full NRL games this season but on both occasions claimed man of the match honours.

A former Australian Schoolboy, Aubusson will rejoin his brother Mitchell.

On the northern beaches, Manly have re-signed forwards Brent Kite and Anthony Watmough to long term contracts, but they have lost classy winger Chris Hicks to the English Super League.

Australian and NSW prop Kite extended his deal - after having had an option for next season - until the end of 2011. Local junior Watmough spurned interest from St George Illawarra to confirm a new three-year contract at the Sea Eagles.

But Hicks, 30, confirmed he would follow team mate Michael Monaghan to Warrington next season on a two-year deal.
