Player movements: Sharks

Former Kangaroo forward Richard Villasanti says he is ready to revive his NRL career after what he describes as two years in the wilderness at the New Zealand Warriors. Villasanti will make his Cronulla debut this weekend after being named to start on the bench for Sunday's clash against the Bulldogs at Telstra Stadium.

Villasanti joined Cronulla earlier this month after five-and-a-half seasons with the Warriors. The 25-year-old says he was getting stale at the Warriors and his enthusiasm for the game has been renewed with the change of clubs.

Cronulla NRL utility Phil Bailey will join English Super League club Wigan from next year. Bailey has signed a three-year deal with the club, joining St George Illawarra captain Trent Barrett at the relegation-threatened club.

Bailey has played 95 games in the top grade for the Sharks as well as three State of Origin matches for New South Wales and two Tests for Australia. Sharks chief executive Greg Pierce says the club had an understanding with the player to release him if he received an offer from an overseas club.
