Poore free to play this weekend, Scott update

St George Illawarra Dragons prop Justin Poore is free to play against the Canberra Raiders this Saturday after having his dangerous throw charge downgraded at the NRL judiciary.

The Helensburgh Tigers junior was cited for a lifting tackle on Penrith winger Shane Elford last Friday night and was facing three weeks on the sideline.

Following an appeal tonight, Poore was penalised 93 carry-over points after the charge was lowered to a grade two.

Dragons utility Beau Scott and forward Matt Prior were also charged by the Match Review Committee for a dangerous throw in the same match. Prior took the early guilty plea and will miss one match while Scott is contesting the charge tonight.

Update:

Beau Scott will cop one-game ban after being found guilty of a grade one dangerous throw. Scott argued that he was the second man in Matt Prior's tackle on Penrith's Wade Graham, and a 'victim of circumstance'. But the judiciary upheld the charge.

Scott's place in the side to face Canberra will most likely go to centre Chase Stanley.
