Poore re-signs with Dragons for three years

St George Illawarra Front Rower Justin Poore has today agreed to terms with the Club for a further three seasons, until the end of the 2009 season.

The local junior began his career with the Helensburgh Tigers, making his NRL debut in Round 1 of the 2004 season, playing 59 games since this time. Poore, 21, has established his place in the Dragons first grade team and is looking forward to continuing to lead the team from the front for the next three years.

?The Dragons are a great Club and I am absolutely stoked to be staying,? said Poore.

?I am a local junior who has been given great opportunities and here is where I want to remain?.

?I feel really happy and comfortable in this environment both with my football and with my family and friends around,? added Poore.

?I know I will play my best football here?.

St George Illawarra Chief Executive Officer Peter Doust said he was pleased to finalise Poore?s arrangements with the Club.

?Justin is a durable athlete who contributes greatly to our teams? performance every week,? said Doust.

?He is a key component of our team moving forward and I am very pleased that he has chosen to stay, as he could potentially have received more money at other Clubs?.

Dragons Coach Nathan Brown was equally as pleased to retain his powerful forward.

?Justin is tough competitor who continues to develop and improve each week and I am very happy he will remain a Dragon,? said Brown.

?Covering the loss of a player the calibre of Luke Bailey is never going to be easy, but I am confident Justin will continue to step-up and lead our team forward?.
