Powell Boosts Rovers Squad

POWELL BOOSTS HIS SQUAD: AND GIVES THE RUMOUR MILL A REST

A trialist gets a deal, the world's worst kept secret is revealed and cockney boosts Rovers' patched up forward pack this week.

Head coach Daryl Powell has been looking for half back options for a while and injuries and illness have depleted his pack disconcertingly, so in come;TOM HEMINGWAY: a half back who was a free agent after the demise of Blackpool panthers and who has been a trialist at Rovers since pre-season. Powell said;

Tom has been with us over a month now. He can play hooker or half back and is a quality young bloke.

JONNY HEPWORTH: Jonny can play hooker, full back and stand off. He has Rugby League experience with Leeds Rhinos and Castleford Tigers, but has played Rugby Union with Leeds Tykes, Leinster and is currently with Rotherham Titans. Jonny is well known to Daryl who had this to say; Jonny is versatile and gives us good options in attack. He is quick and strong. Jonny has already trained with us and fits in with the group very well, which I thought he would- I coached him at Leeds. Jonny will join us when he has completed his commitments with the Titans.

DAVE WILLIAMS: Dave comes to Rovers on loan from Harlequins. He is one of a rapidly growing number of Londoners playing professional Rugby League. Powell said; I've had to do a fair bit of looking around to strengthen our pack and Dave fits the bill. He's a big rangy prop, with a lot to offer.
