Preview: Huddersfield v Salford (Round
14)

Huddersfield coach Jon Sharp is urging his players not to fall back into their old ways on Sunday after becoming the first team to beat engage Super League leaders St Helens.

The Giants ended a run of five straight defeats with a shock 19-16 victory over Saints last Saturday and Sharp wants his side to maintain those high standards when top-six team Salford visit the Galpharm Stadium.

?We were obviously delighted with the win over Saints but the players know we?ve still got a lot of hard work ahead of us,? he said.

?Our performance was far from perfect and we all know there?s still plenty of room to improve.

?The key now is to maintain that improvement against Salford and try to rediscover our early-season momentum.

?It?s up to the players to continue to push ahead. The last thing we want to see now is for our standard to slip back again.?

Salford ended their three-match losing run at the expense of Wakefield last week and they have the chance to reclaim fourth place as the regular season reaches the halfway stage.

?Salford are a well-organised and well-coached team and have surprised a lot of people within rugby league this season,? acknowledged Sharp.

?Sunday?s game should be a great contest for the fans to enjoy.?

The Reds are boosted by the return from injury of forwards Ian Sibbit and Paul Highton but their main inspiration this season has been former Leeds stand-off Andrew Dunemann.

The experienced Australian, who was named Super League player of the month for April, joined Salford on a 12-month deal in the winter but could be set to sign a new contract.

Salford director of football Steve Simms said: ?We would love to still have him at the club next year.

?He has indicated that he would like to play in England for another year so we will sit down with him in the next week or two and try to convince him to stay with us.?
