Preview: Quins v Hull (R22)

Hull FC forward Ewan Dowes is warning his team-mates not to under-estimate the challenge of Harlequins RL at the Twickenham Stoop on Saturday.

Hull will move into second if they win - although Leeds can reclaim that spot two hours later if they defeat leaders St Helens at Headingley.

The relegation-threatened Londoners are desperate for points after winning just one of their last five matches and they will be keen to give new coach Brian McDermott a win on his home debut.

?At this stage of the season every club has something to play for,? said Dowes. ?It doesn?t matter that we are at the top end of the table and they are closer to the bottom.

?They will be fighting for every point just as much as we will. Everyone must be ready for that.

?It?s always a tough game against Quins. They can be a real challenge on their day. Obviously they have a new coach so the players will be looking to impress him.?

Hull will be without leading scorer Paul Cooke for the first time since last August after he went into hospital to have a kidney stone removed and that gives teenager Tommy Lee the chance to take over at stand-off.

?It?s very risky playing with it so we had the chance to get Paul into hospital and we took it,? said coach Peter Sharp.

?Tommy deserves his chance. He has shown a lot in the games he has played, even though they have been off the bench.?

Kirk Dixon takes over the goalkicking as well as the wing spot from Gareth Raynor (hamstring). Liam Higgins also gets a call-up in place of Garreth Carvell (shoulder).

Harlequins give debuts to new signings Paul Noone and Anthony Stewart in place of injured pair Zeb Luisi (broken hand) and Joe Mbu (dislocated shoulder), who were both injured in last week?s defeat at St Helens.
