Preview: Salford v Wakefield (Round
5)

Karl Harrison, coach of engage Super League surprise packet Salford Reds, insists his team of high fliers will not be taking Wakefield lightly at The Willows on Saturday.

Having so far claimed the scalps of Warrington and Wigan, in addition to newcomers Catalans Dragons, the Reds will be firm favourites to make it four wins out of five at the expense of the Wildcats, who have won just one of their opening four matches.

But Harrison, who will give a debut to former Halifax, Castleford and Huddersfield centre or second rower Ryan Clayton, says his team are not getting carried away by their impressive start to the season.

?We?re not in a position to shout from the rooftops,? he said. ?We?ve got to earn the credit and that?s what we intend to do.

?There is no danger of complacency. People who under-estimate Wakefield, like they did Salford, are going to get a shock.?

Salford captain Malcolm Alker added: ?We?ll take confidence from our results and it?s nice to go into games with confidence but there is a long way to go.?

Salford?s eye-catching form has come as no surprise to Wakefield coach Tony Smith, who rates them the most improved team in Super League.

?I?ve watched all four of their games and I have to say I?m really impressed,? said Smith.

?They are the most improved team in Super League from last year. They have always been a methodical, well-coached side who do the basics well and now they?ve added a bit of class.?

The Wildcats will hand the goalkicking duties to Ben Jeffries after David March missed all three shots in last week?s two-point defeat by Huddersfield.

?David has admitted it?s started to affect his game so we won?t be asking him to kick again,? said Smith. ?It?s only fair.

?We have lost two games because of goalkicks but I would never blame any of my players for not kicking goals because they don?t profess to be a specialist kicker.

?We should have Jamie Rooney back in the next two weeks but I won?t push him just because of his goalkicking.?
