The Queensland selectors have today announced their finest flesh for the Decider at Suncorp Stadium on July 6. However, they have left one spot on the bench vacant.
The big shock is the axing of fullback Billy Slater in favour of Cowboy?s hero Matt Bowen who moves from the bench into the starting side. Long suffering Sharks prop Danny Nutley has finally been given a jersey alongside equally pained Souths backrower Ashley Harrison who is on the bench.
Dane Carlaw and Casey McGuire are both gone with Corey Parker finding himself on the bench. Queensland named three debutants in the squad with one spot still yet to be determined. Brisbane lock Tonie Carroll will undergo a fitness test and this may be what the Maroons are waiting for.
The full squad is:
Matt Bowen Ty Williams Shaun Berrigan Paul Bowman Matt Sing Darren Lockyer (c) Johnathan Thurston Petero Civoniceva Cameron Smith Danny Nutley Michael Crocker Brad Thorn Chris Flannery
