BURLEIGH BEARS v NORTHS DEVILS

The Burleigh Bears will be looking to leap over the Norths Devils on the ladder when these two teams meet at Pizzey Park on Saturday. The Bears showed they were intent on kick-starting their season with an aggressive performance against the Souths Logan Magpies in round five, while a standout effort from fullback Javarn White helped the Devils to a tight win over the Easts Tigers. However, the statistics are on the side of Burleigh, with Norths having not won a game at Pizzey Park since 2005. The Devils will have the services of Brisbane Bronco Scott Anderson, who is set to provide even more grunt to a Devils' pack that has found its rhythm after a sluggish start to the year. Norths forward Natthan Cleaver will play his 50th Queensland Cup game, all of which have been for the Devils. For the Bears, Jamie Dowling will return at fullback while Marty Mitchell will become the fourth Burleigh player to wear the No. 9 jersey this year in the wake of Scott Smith's season-ending knee injury.

Comets coach Wayne Barnett has made a number of changes to his team for this must-win clash against the Wynnum Manly Seagulls. Both sides are winless so far but have played well in patches without a great deal of luck. An injury to Mitchell Zornig has forced Barnett to shuffle his line-up and include a number of new faces, with Rockhampton Brothers fullback James McConachy named in the custodian position and BJ Munns on the wing. McConachy was selected to play for Rockhampton in this weekend's 47th Battalion carnival in Bundaberg but will now showcase his skills in the Intrust Super Cup for the first time this year. Wynnum Manly utility Matt Grieve, who won a premiership with the Sunshine Coast in 2009 before joining the Seagulls, will play his 50th Queensland Cup game. In the head-to-head stakes, Wynnum have won 20 of their past encounters with the Comets, with Central having won six. There have been two draws. Wynnum Manly supporters and other league fans will be able to tune into the call from Mike Higgison and Troy Robbins on BayFM 100.3.
REDCLIFFE DOLPHINS v MACKAY CUTTERS

The Dolphins will be aiming to win their sixth-straight game this season and claim top spot on the ladder in this weekend's clash against the Cutters. The Dolphins were clinical in their disposal of the Ipswich Jets in round five and have been earmarked by many opposition coaches as the team to beat this season. The combination between their halves Ryan Carr and Joe Bond and their fullback - former Cutter Justin Hunt - has been a cornerstone of their success so far this season. The Cutters however, have been unlucky with injuries striking down two of their first-choice halves in Grant Rovelli and Todd Seymour. Jardine Bobongie - who normally slots into the backrow - has been named as halfback. However, there is speculation that Cowboys contracted player Shannon Gallant will return to boost a squad that has already been strengthened by the inclusion of tough forward Dane Hogan. In an impressive milestone for the home side, the Dolphins have scored 9999 points in the Queensland Cup - and one more point this weekend will make them the first team to score 10,000.
SOUTHS LOGAN v SUNSHINE COAST

Souths Logan Magpies will look to bounce back from a disappointing round five loss to the Burleigh Bears when they again line up at Davies Park. Coach Mark Beaumont has named a strong side for the clash, with skipper Phil Dennis set to return at five-eighth along with Reece Robinson on the wing. Canberra Raider Travis Waddell has also been named to make his first appearance this season in Magpies colours. Sea Eagles coach Adam Mogg has shown faith in his young side, naming a largely unchanged team for the game against the Magpies. The side will be strengthened by the inclusion of Riley McDowall and Jon Muir, both of whom are returning from injury. Muir will have the honour of becoming the first Sea Eagle to play 50 Queensland Cup games for the club. Callum Klein is also set to return, and will move to five-eighth to partner the impressive Nick Swan in the halves. Kane Richards slots into hooker, pushing Robert Congoo on to the bench. Congoo's younger brother Malcolm was a standout performer for the Sea Eagles in their loss to the Pride in round 5. Head-to-head, Souths Logan have won three of the past five games.
TWEED HEADS v EASTS TIGERS

Easts Tigers coach Troy McCarthy will return to Piggabeen on Sunday, but this time around he will be in enemy territory. McCarthy was at the helm when the southernmost Queensland Cup side won the competition in 2007. The Tigers will be hoping he has some inside knowledge to help beat the as yet undefeated Tweed Heads side. The Tigers may have only recorded the one win so far, but have gone close a number of times, including a 16-16 draw with Ipswich in round 1. Their task to return from their away trip with the two points has been made all the more difficult with creative halfback Luke Kelly missing from this week's line-up with a groin injury. Tweed Heads will welcome back electric fullback Shannon Walker from suspension. Hard-working Tweed forward Selasi Berdie will also make his return to the side and it comes at just the right time following the loss of Ryan Simpkins (hamstring). Head-to-head, the Tigers have won nine games while Tweed Heads have won eight.
