The Burleigh Bears have put on two gutsy performances in a row in the past fortnight, with the injury-hit side only going down to the ladder-leading Tweed Heads Seagulls by one point in the final minutes of their game last weekend. Their opponents the Central Comets fought back from a 16-4 halftime deficit to record a 26-22 win over the Easts Tigers last Saturday. The Comets played with more confidence, and with another win under their belt, they may prove hard to stop. However, if history is any indication of how this game will unfold, the Comets will have a hard time ahead of them, with their head-to-head record being one of the most lop-sided in the Queensland Cup. In 28 previous outings, the Comets have only won twice to Burleigh's 26 times. Burleigh forward Matt Pow plays his 100th Queensland Cup game, while Central prop James Crombie will be taking the field for his 50th game in the competition.
