Queensland team named for Origin
I

Rookie Scott Prince has been selected at halfback for Queensland after a couple of rousing performances for the Tigers in recent weeks. Following injuries to key personnel, the Cane Toads were looking a little thin in the halves department, but fortunately Prince has stepped up in recent weeks to be given his first chance at the elite level, despite being earmarked several years ago.

Most of the rest of the team is as you would expect, but there must be an injury cloud over five-eighth and captain Darren Lockyer. As a result of that, Matt Bowen has been carried on the bench.

Rhys Wesser has won the contentious fullback role in the Queensland State of Origin Team just announced.

Billy Slater has been selected on the wing with Justin Hodges, who's a little more accustomed to the centres these days. Cowboys stalwart Paul Bowman has come into the frame as well, picking up a three-quarter position.
