Rabbitohs extend Nathan Merritt's and John Sutton's contracts until the end of the 2014 season
The South Sydney Rabbitohs are pleased to announce that South Sydney juniors Nathan Merritt and John Sutton have extended their playing contracts with the Club until the end of the 2014 season.
Merritt, 27, is one of three players at the Club to have played in the re-instatement season of 2002, becoming one of the competition's most potent tryscoring weapons with over 100 NRL tries to his name. Merritt has been selected in the Indigenous All Stars side for the past two years and also represented the Prime Minister's XIII in Papua New Guinea in 2006.
Sutton, 26, made his first grade debut with the Rabbitohs in 2004 and has been a regular selection in the NRL squad over the past seven seasons. John has represented City Origin on two occasions, as well as touring Papua New Guinea with the Prime Minister's XIII in 2005.
He was also the recipient of the George Piggins Medal as South Sydney's best and fairest player in 2009.
Rabbitohs CEO Shane Richardson is happy to have both Merritt and Sutton commit to the Club for a further three years.
