Rads Given All
Clear

Wigan Full Back Kris Radlinski has been given the news he has been waiting for, he has been given the all clear on his wrist tendon injury.

Kris saw a specialist on Wednesday and was told the injury had at last fully healed. Radlinski hasn't played since the Widnes Vikings game in early May where he aggravated a long standing wrist tendon problem and the medical advice recommended surgery to resolve the problem once and for all.

It has been the longest lay-off in his professional career and the player is itching to make a return to the first team as Wigan push towards the end of season Play-Offs, Radlinski was also named by GB Coach David Waite in the train on squad of 28 for the forthcoming visit of Australia in November,

It will now be up to the player and physio Alan Tomlinson as to when Radlinski can return, it is believed the home game against Bradford Bulls on Bank Holiday Monday is a real possibility.

Lam Out of Leeds trip.

Wigan face Leeds at Headingley on Friday night in what looks a must win game for both sides, the Rhinos eager to bounce back following last Friday's home defeat by Bradford to keep alive their hopes of finishing top while Wigan still believe they can snatch second spot, a win for Mike Gregory's men would reduce Leeds advantage in the table to just three points with five games left.

Mike Gregory confirmed that as expected Adrian Lam misses out, although the 32 year old Scrum Half has made exceptional progress since damaging his ankle at Warrington, the game at Leeds has arrived too quickly so Luke Robinson will continue to fill his shoes in the starting line-up,

"The team will be Briscoe, Carney, Aspinwall, Hodgson, Dallas, O'Loughlin, Robinson, O'Connor, Newton, Smith, Cassidy, Wild, Farrell. On the bench it will be Johnson, Pongia, Hock, Tickle."

Mike Gregory has won two from two since taking over at the JJB Stadium but admits Friday's clash is about as tough as it comes but all the players are ready for the game,

"When you are playing the likes of Leeds, Bradford and St Helens there's no motivational factor needed, it's about pride and passion and the players are up against quality opposition that will test them, it's the sort of challenge that players want."

"The boys in training this week are very upbeat, one thing I have changed is that the players have the day off before the game and I expect them to be fully charged, I just like them to have a good rest before the onslaught."

"Leeds is a must win game if we are to finish second which is our aim It will be a tough test for me and Denis up against Darryl, Malcolm Reilly and Mick Cook."
