Raiders fullback Zillman to miss season

Canberra have confirmed promising fullback William Zillman will miss the rest of the NRL season with a knee injury.

Zillman, 21, will undergo his second knee re-construction in as many seasons after injuring the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in last Saturday's 20-16 win over Penrith.

And the Raiders' injury woes worsened further with the news prop Scott Logan will miss one to two months with a fractured cheekbone.

Usual winger Bronx Goodwin has been named to replace Zillman at fullback for this Saturday's home clash with St George Illawarra.

He impressed coach Neil Henry in the position after Zillman was forced off against the Panthers.

"I think he attacked the ball well at fullback," Henry said.

"He made a couple of strong tackles and stopped a few people who made line breaks so I was happy with his commitment defensively.

"He does wander around the field a bit and can bob up, as he scored some amazing tries last year, and he's quite comfortable at fullback."

Michael Weyman has been recalled to the Raiders squad to replace Logan, while Lincoln Withers has also been named on an extended Raiders bench but is in doubt with a rib cartilage problem.
