The Canberra Raiders have continued to retain their junior talent, with the announcement today that rising half Michael Picker will remain with the club for a further two seasons until the end of 2012.
Picker, 21, has been with the club since he was 16, playing in the Raiders junior teams, including the premiership winning Toyota Cup team in 2008.
After graduating from the under 20's squad last season Picker has been playing for the Raiders feeder club the Souths Logan Magpies and his strong form this year has seen him gain selection in the Queensland City team for this weekend's match against Queensland Country.
Despite receiving interest from other NRL clubs Picker has decided to remain in the nation's capital, in a bid to try and break into the NRL team as a Raider.
Picker said the opportunity to play for the Raiders at the top level is something he's always aspired to and said he's hoping to play alongside his brother Joe in the top grade for the Green Machine.
