Raiders streak continues over the Dragons

The Canberra Raiders have continued their winning streak over the St. George Illawarra Dragons as they claimed their ninth win with a 22-18 victory in front of 12,072

The major concern out of the contest is for Josh Dugan as he left the field late in the match after taking a knee to the face from a teammate.

It wasn't the night the Dragons wanted as their finals hopes are all but over.

The Raiders started strongly in Wollongong as Joel Edwards managed to spin through the Dragons defence off an offload from Jarrod Croker to post first points. Canberra off to a quick start, 6-0 after 8 minutes.

For the majority of the first half the arm wrestle played out as the Dragons posted their first points just before half time. Mitch Rein created the opportunity with a beautiful dummy run which fooled the Raiders defence, he then linked with Jack Stockwell who scored the try.

Just as the half was looking completed, the Raiders had the final say as Reece Robinson dived over in the eastern corner of WIN Stadium thanks to a pin-point short pass from Croker. After forty minutes, the Raiders ahead 10-6.

The second half started much like the first with a four-pointer to the Canberra side. Shaun Berrigan simply burrowed over the try line from acting half. After 43 minutes, the Raiders extend their lead to 16-6.
