The Sydney Roosters have helped their top 4 prospects dramatically with a great win against Manly at SFS today, defeating the visitors 34-12.
The match was played in atrocious conditions for the most part, with the Roosters getting out to an early 18-nil lead before Manly gave themselves a sniff through a try to Michael Robertson. Steve Matai made the conversion to leave the scores at 18-6. Rooster Iosia Soliola scored not long after, with a great ball by Anthony Tupou sending him over, restoring the 18 point margin. Anasta attempted a field goal just before the players were sent to the sheds for half time but it went wide, leaving the halftime score 24-6 to the Sydney Roosters.
Manly started the second half better but could not convert it into points. Amos Roberts got his second early in the half with Craig Fitzgibbon missing the conversion, his first miss of the day. The Eagles kept themselves in the game when Brett Stewart crossed after a length of the field effort after gathering up a Roosters kick in his own in goal. The game degenerated from here with plenty of penalty
