The Sydney Roosters will soon be known as the shut out kings after yet another match where they kept the opposition scoreless. This time it was a 40-0 win over Cronulla Sharks at Allianz Stadium in front of 13,706.
Both sides had key players missing from the game with the Roosters missing Sonny Bill Williams meanwhile the Sharks were without the services of Origin second rower Luke Lewis.
The opening to the first half could not have been any better for the Sydney Roosters, with Boyd Cordner scoring in just the third minute. Mitchell Aubusson added another try in the 8th minute and at that stage it looked like the only opponent the Roosters were facing was the clock.
The Roosters seemed to be cruising during the opening 20 minutes and by this time had opened a 22-0 lead with tries to Roger Tuivasa-Sheck in the 17th minute and then to Shaun Kenny-Dowall in the 20th minute.
The clock then started to get the better of the Roosters with neither side being able to score until it was Boyd Cordner who got the second of his double of the night to push the score out to 28-0 at Half Time.
The second half started off marginally better for the Sharks with some good attacking sets in the opening few minutes however it was the Roosters yet again who could turn the attack into points through Sam Moa to push the lead out to 34-0.
The last points of the night for the Roosters came in the 69th minute through Mitchell Aubusson to take the lead out to 40-0.
That was the end of the scoring for the night but wasn
