Readon - "I aint going nowhere"

Home-grown Bulls star Stuart Reardon has flatly refused a move to Wakefield as part of the Gareth Ellis deal.

Ellis has reportedly agreed terms with the Bulls after Wakefield accepted the club's offer of Reardon, pictured, and Jamie Langley in exchange for their skipper. However Reardon's refusal to consider a move to Atlantic Solutions Stadium means the deal will have to be reworked.

"As far as I am concerned I am not going anywhere," said Reardon. "I have got a year to run on my deal at the Bulls and I am going to play it out. We'll see what happens next year.

"I don't want to leave. I don't think I've had a bad year. I don't want to be a part of any deal. This is my home-town and this is where I want to play."

A winner of the Harry Sunderland Trophy for his man-of-the-match performance in the 2003 Grand Final victory over Wigan, Reardon was an ever-present in Super League IX, scoring 12 tries in 30 appearances.

He then made his international debut in the Gillette Tri-Nations, ending as Great Britain's top scorer with four tries in five matches.

After the highs of the Tri-Nations, Reardon was stunned to learn he had been offered to Wakefield.

"I was pretty devastated when I heard about it," he said.

"I am sure Jamie Langley is devastated as well. I couldn't believe that I had been [offered]. But it is up to the club's directors. It is their club as well, not just mine."

Reardon is not due to report back at training until January 2 when the club's international players rejoin the rest of the squad.

He is yet to hear from the Bulls exactly where he stands but is determined to prove his worth in Super League X.

"I don't really know what is going on. I have spoken to my agent but no-one has come to me from the club.

"I can't let it get me down. I'll just have to see what happens when I get back. I am not bitter about it at all. I am just going to play my hardest and if it's still not good enough then it's not good enough. If they still don't want me then there is nothing I can do. I will be out of contract."

Tickets are on sale at the ticket office for the Bulls' pre-season trip to Dewsbury on January 16. Main stand tickets are priced at ?10 (?6 concessions) with standing tickets costing ?9 (?5 concessions and ?1 for under-16s).
