Redcliffe remain undefeated in Qld
Cup

The Redcliffe Dolphins made it three wins from three games today when they powered home to beat the Souths Logan Magpies 44 - 16 at Davies Park.

The first half was an arm wrestle which finished 8 - all after Souths scored under the posts just before the break. Earlier Damien Richters and Phil Shilvock both posted tries out wide.

In the 46th minute Souths Logan hit the front with a try to Edward Dodd before Redcliffe skipped up a gear running in six tries in the second half. On paper it was an easy win but Redcliffe's forwards had a hard day at the office and the side didn't quite click like in the first two rounds. That said, when Shane Perry danced through the defense to score under the posts in the 58th minute, the game seemed safely in hand.

Gavin Cooper again impressed and the forwards eventually wore down the large Maggies pack. Next week Redcliffe take on North Qld at Dolphin Oval at 3pm Sunday.

Redcliffe 44 (Shilvock, Richters, Perry, Roberts, Jones, Starr, Cooper, Green tries; Richters 6 goals) def Souths Logan 16 (Dodd, Joyce, Irvine tries; Van Dijk 2 goals)

In the A Grade redcliffe were monstored by the big Souths Logan pack. Everything that could go wrong did including: kicking the ball out from the kickoff, dropped ball from the kickoff, and dropped ball on first tackle.

Captain Joe Burley summed it up in an in goal rev up when he said "We cant win without the pill." Although a late try in the first half gave Redcliffe some hope Souths shut the game down in the 2nd half. Burley lead from the front scoring the Dolphins' only try of the second half.

After three rounds the premiers languish at the bottom of the table and play fellow cellar dwellers Runaway Bay next week.

In Colts Redcliffe ran riot over the Magpies running out 66 - 10 winners. Dropped ball was an issue but Redcliffe had too much class.
