Renouf bags hat trick as Easts earn
a spot in QRL grand final

Easts Tigers have dominated Wynnum Seagulls to run away 50-24 winners and book themselves a berth in next weekend's Queensland Cup grand final.

The highlight of the afternoon being a hat trick of tries to Steve Renouf; the former Broncos, Queensland and Australian centre making numerous breaks down the left side.

After an ordnary first half, Wynnum came back to score two tries early in the second half, pegging Easts back to 24-18 lead.

But in the 61st minute, Renouf found space to score his second try and minutes later, Steve Beattie bagged a double. From that point on, the Tigers never looked like losing.

The result see Easts into the grand final against the Burleigh Bears, next Saturday (18th September), kick off 3pm at Lang Park.

Easts boast the best attack in the Queensland Cup while Burleigh have the best defensive statistics.

It what was a successful afternoon all round, Easts won both lower grades fixtures as well and will have teams in all three grand finals next Saturday.
