RLPA and NRL
to discuss salary cap

The NRL and the Rugby League Professionals Association will meet today to negotiate a new collective bargaining agreement, with the salary cap to be the hot topic of discussion.

In a meeting with the NRL yesterday, club chief executives agreed to a small increase in the salary cap. It's understood the NRL is angling for a rise of about $140,000 to the existing base cap figure of $3.36 million, although players association boss Matt Rodwell is likely to push for a higher increase.
