Robinson delight at extended Giants deal

ROBINSON DELIGHT AT EXTENDED GIANTS DEAL

Huddersfield Giants and England star Luke Robinson admitted he jumped at the chance to sign an extended contract with the Claret and Gold.

The 26-year-old hooker or half-back this week put pen to paper on a new deal which will keep him at the Galpharm until the end of the 2015 Super League season.

The news comes just six months after Robinson agreed an initial extension that would have lasted until the end of 2012.

Robinson starred for his country in this autumn's Four Nations tournament Down Under and the Giants have acted quickly to tie him to the same length of deal signed by England teammate Kevin Brown earlier this year.

Robinson was delighted to secure the deal:

I'm over the moon about this, said Robinson, who will soon begin his rehabilitation following major shoulder surgery two weeks ago.

I was absolutely delighted to sign the first extension about six months ago, but this is even better. This is the club where I want to be and it's a great feeling to know my long-term future is already sorted. It means I can concentrate 100% on my rugby.

I'm delighted to have secured my future at the Giants for such a long period of time and it's very much an indication of how much I am enjoying being at the club. Everyone around the place is hugely ambitious and I genuinely believe we will continue to progress in the next five years, we are not far off achieving silverware and hopefully by 2015 I will have some winners medals under my belt.

I've committed to the club for the peak years of my career and the last three years as a Giants player has been massively enjoyable and I'm pleased I've found the club which is a perfect fit for me as a player.
