Roos Open Tour With Victory

Australia opened their five-match tour of Great Britain with an emphatic 34-10 win over a French Selection in front of a disappointing crowd of 7,813 in Carcassonne.

Sydney Roosters hooker Michael Crocker, one of four players making their debuts for the Kangaroos, and North Queensland winger Matt Sing both touched down twice apiece.

The Australians' other tries came from Penrith prop Trent Waterhouse and Roosters full-back Anthony Minichiello. Brisbane centre Michael De Vere kicked five conversions.

Scrum-half Julien Rinaldi scored all the French Selection points, who trailed 12-4 at half-time, with two penalties and a converted try.

The Kangaroos fly out to London on Sunday to prepare for their opening match against England A in Brentford on Tuesday.
