The Roosters did the little things right to win by a land slide in the end. The Eagles started well, footing it with the Roosters in the first 10, then they just collapsed. Mistakes crept into their game and they started dropping off tackles. Brad Fittler had a blinder of a game in his 150 th game for the tricolours, and Ricketson was solid in his 217 th game, equal highest for the club. Steve Menzies was the only Eagle who could hold his head up high as he was easily one of the best players on the field in a beaten side. Other stand outs in the game included Roosters Luke Phillips and Shannon Hegarty.
In the end the rooster were just to good for the Eagles, who did themselves no favors by making plenty of mistakes in their own half and when in good field position.
