Roosters side named to face the
Raiders

Saturday?s blockbuster showdown in Gosford against Canberra is shaping as the hottest ticket in town, with a number of unique milestones destined to ensure a night of history for rugby league?s oldest club.

Tireless back-rower Craig Fitzgibbon needs just four points to break club legend Allan McKean?s all-time Roosters? point-scoring record (903 points), while underrated prop Jason Cayless will play his 100th first grade game.

?This is a club surrounded in history and to be able to say you were there when ?Fitzy? became our leading scorer will be something special,? in-form skipper Luke Ricketson said.

?He only needs a try or a couple of goals, so he?s a very strong chance to do it.

?The boys love heading up to the Central Coast, so we can?t wait to get up there on Friday.?

Coach Ricky Stuart has organised an open training session this Friday at 3.30pm at Central Coast Stadium, where locals from Gosford and surrounding districts will have the chance to watch the resurgent Roosters go through their final paces before game day. Fans will have the opportunity to meet their heroes and collect signatures in an informal signing session once training finishes.

?We?ve got a great supporter base right throughout the Central Coast, so this is our way of thanking them for their loyalty to the Roosters,? Stuart said.

?It?s a rugby league heartland crying out for a great game of footy. Saturday night is going to provide that.

?The Central Coast is a great spot. We?re trying to promote football in the region and all of the boys are looking forward to heading up there a great deal.

?All of our Origin players will be there barring injury in Wednesday?s game and I think we?ve shown some good signs of improvement lately.

?We?ve only let in one try in our past two games ? the attitude of the boys has been first class.

?We?re in a position now where we can build momentum, but we need our fans to turn up in numbers to help us get over the line.

?It?s only a stone?s throw from Sydney, so I know we can count on our Sydney based fans to make the trip up as well.?

Football tragics are in for a treat, with a chance to watch both Jersey Flegg (4pm kick-off) and Premier League (5.40pm kick-off) aim to consolidate their strong starts to 2005 (first grade commences at 7.30pm).

Both grades are their respective 2004 defending premiers ? and are looking to entrench their positions in the top eight against classy opposition.

Central Coast Stadium is one of Australia?s best-viewing sporting complexes, ensuring no matter where you sit, you?ll have a great view of the Roosters in action in a vital clash for both clubs.
