Round 17 charges

Manly has been dealt a double blow by the NRL match review committee with two players facing possible suspension following their loss to Wests Tigers on Friday night.

Sea Eagles prop Kane Cleal and five-eighth Michael Witt were both charged by the match review committee, along with Brisbane front rower Sam Thaiday.

Cleal could miss two matches after being hit with a grade one careless high tackle charge for his high shot on Tigers second rower Liam Fulton.

His Sea Eagles teammate Witt could also miss this weekend's clash with Penrith after copping a grade one striking charge for a swinging arm.

Broncos enforcer Thaiday can escape punishment with an early guilty plea after he was charged with a grade one dangerous throw following yesterday's clash with Cronulla in Brisbane.
