Round 19 Team of the Week

Fullback ? C Schifcofske (Raiders) Played a pivotal role for the Raiders in a close game against Parra. His three goals and superb ball-returns set the tone for Canberra.

Wing ? N Merritt (Sharks) After some sensational form in the lower grades - including 38 points in one game - Merritt got his chance in the top grade this week and didn?t disappoint, collecting two tries and three goals along the way.

Centre ? R Maitua (Bulldogs) What a huge game from Reni! He was a constant menace in attack, scoring two tries and leaving the Panthers defense grasping at thin air on many occasions.

Centre ? P Graham (Raiders) Phil played a very smart game for Canberra, bagging a pair of tries, one of them a very opportunistic 90m intercept effort.

Wing ? W Naiqama (Dragons) Young Wes has come of age in recent weeks and he was damaging against the Sea Eagles. He scored a top try, kicked six goals and had a hand in a few as well.

Five-eighth ? N Fein (Warriors) Fien has been in solid form recently and against the Roosters was very good. The Warriors have been threatening over the past few weeks and they had the resolve to fight back and win with their backs to the wall.

Halfback ? A Johns (Knights) Joey had another great game and has carried his outstanding Origin form back into the tail end of the regular season. He?s Newcastle?s best performer right now.

Lock ? J Croker (Raiders) A genuine veteran of the game, Croker found some valuable form to provide the catalyst for the Raiders victory with a bustling effort up the middle of the park to score the match winner.

Second-row ? B Creagh (Dragons) How good?s this kid going! Ben Creagh was dropped against Parra last week due to some poor form, but his reinstatement to the line-up for this week brought about a rousing performance including many big runs, stiff tackles and a try just for good measure.

Second-row ? S Simpson (Knights) Another Knight who has continued his good form since the Origin campaign ended. Simmo barged over for two good tries and was kept busy all night in a solid effort.

Prop ? R Asotasi (Bulldogs) There?s a reason we keep picking Roy, he?s smashing them! Every week he puts in and doesn?t ask for any pats on the back. He?s was like the monster in the closet against Penrith and terrorised them all night.

Hooker ? L Hohaia (Warriors) Lance has found a home in the number nine jersey after a few months of indifference in the halves and off the bench. He?s playing great footy and looks seems to be enjoying things a bit more. Of course, a win helps?

Prop ? L Bailey (Dragons) Bull was devastating against Manly, tearing them apart from word go and feasting on the ?metres gained? column throughout Sunday?s clash. Looks to be back to his best and the Dragons will need him to be.

The bench this week is a tough one and you wouldn?t want to meet them in a dark alley, with Webcke, Cusack and Wiki all entering the battle at some stage. Ty Williams has been one of the few Cowboys turning up to play in recent times and deserve a go.

Interchange: S Webcke (Broncos), P Cusack (Rabbitohs), R Wiki (Warriors), T Williams (Cowboys).

The fella?s below also rate a mention, as they rounded out performances worthy of selection, but unfortunately we can?t give them all a run.

Notable mentions: J Sutton (Rabbitohs), V Mellars (Sharks), D Lockyer (Broncos).
