Round 8 Team of the Week

An interesting line-up here acknowledges the work some players put in each week with plenty of regular first graders that don't always get the wraps they deserve. You could put this week's League Unlimited Team of the Week on the field against anyone and they wouldn't disappoint.

Fullback - B Hornby (Dragons) Scored a good try and played well enough to earn a Country fullback spot. Hornby has been in nice touch chiming into the Dragons backline throughout the season.

Wing - H El Masri (Bulldogs) Reliable as ever in the kicking department and grabbed a rare hat-trick of tries. El Magic finds himself on the wing for City this Friday night after a selection shuffle.

Centre - P Bowman (Cowboys) Bagged a double up at home against arch rivals the Roosters. Playing great footy and should be among the contenders for a Maroon jersey.

Centre - S Berrigan (Broncos) He?s surprised many people with his versatility, but Berrigan jnr really has stepped up to the plate in his role at centre, scoring three tries and tearing apart the Sea Eagles in the process.

Wing - M Gafa (Raiders) Proved the difference against Newcastle with a try and three goals in an unlikely victory. Doesn?t get many wraps but fits nicely here on the wing.

Five-eighth - T Campese (Raiders) Directed the Raiders well in the absence of Jason Smith and worked tirelessly. The nephew of a more famous sportsman, Campese has a big future ahead of him.

Halfback - B Kimmorley (Sharks) Outstanding once again ? how does he do it? Kimmorley has a vice-like grip on a Blue no.7 uniform and is really starting to make people stand up and take notice of the Sharks.

Lock - W Koopu (Warriors) Sneaks in here with a rare appearance but played well enough at the weekend to justify his spot. The Warriors aren?t travelling so well right now but this is one bloke that can hold his head high.

Second-row - P Bailey (Sharks) Back to some of his best for which saw him don the green and gold. Bailey has been sleepy for the last season or two but exploded out of the block on Saturday against Melbourne.

Second-row - D Stagg (Broncos) An impressive player with under-rated abilities by the media. There?s obviously a reason why Wayne Bennett keeps picking this kid each week ? he can play footy!

Prop - S Webcke (Broncos) Still the benchmark when it comes to the front row. He may even improve past his best club footy now that he?s retired from the rep scene. An absolute joy to watch and tireless in all facets of the game.

Hooker - L Priddis (Panthers) He really got amongst it on Sunday and controlled the game the way we all know he can. Scored a brilliant individual try and has strong claims to be swathed in the sky blue.

Prop - R Asotasi (Bulldogs) Boy, this guy is really on fire. He?s belting people each week and is really leading from the front with O?Meley and Mason out. A very impressive player these days.

The bench is strong here, with Hutch who has been terrorising opponents this year. Then Bowen and Wesser add that spark you rarely get. Ryan rounds out a bench which perfectly compliments the starting side.

Interchange: H Maiava (Sharks), M Bowen (Cowboys), R Wesser (Panthers), A Ryan (Bulldogs).
