Rudder out of boxing day clash

Sean Rudder has been ruled out of the boxing day clash between Castleford and Leeds at Headingley.

The former Newcastle Knights five-eighth required surgery for an aggrevated knee cartilage problem which will keep him out of action for 6 weeks.

Rudder, who signed a two year deal with the Tigers earlier in the year, is a major signing for the club. He has played over 100 first grade games with the Knights and arrives at the club at the young age of 24.

Lee Harland (Ankle) and Andy Lynch (Shoulder) are also out of the Castleford side meaning Paul Newlove, Ryan Clayton and Ryan Sheridan make their debuts.
