Sea Eagles Statement: Richie Fa'aoso

The Manly Warringah Sea Eagles respect the decision handed down in court on Thursday in regards to the matter involving Richie Fa’aoso.

The club will now internally review the outcomes from the court charges on Thursday, before putting forward their disciplinary recommendations to the NRL Integrity Unit.

The Sea Eagles will continue in its duty of care to the player, as Richie continues to undergo the necessary NRL supported counseling, while ensuring the welfare of his family.

“Richie has been genuinely remorseful during this whole period. He understands the seriousness of what occurred and plans to make amends with everyone involved, especially his family.” General Manger David Perry said.

A sentiment echoed by Fa’aoso.

“I want everyone to know that I apologise wholeheartedly for my actions, and make no excuses,” Fa’aoso said.

“I will do whatever I need to do to get back on track and I again thank my family, the NRL and the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles for their ongoing support during this time.”

The club will not make any further comment on the matter at this stage.
