Semi finals time in the Bartercard
Cup

The play-offs for New Zealand's Bartercard Cup competition begin this weekend.

Mt Albert Lions finishing top of the table, earn themselves the bye and a well deserved rest.

First up game on Saturday afternoon has Counties Manukau Jets down in Christchurch taking on the Canterbury Bulls. Rugby League Park in Christchurch has taken many visitors' scalps over the years, and after their win over the Jets last weekend in Papakura, the Bulls will be full of confidence.

The second game of the weekend is a local derby on Sunday between the North Harbour Tigers and Hibiscus Coast Raiders.

Apart from the do or die game on offer, being placed fourth and fifth respectively at the end of round robin play, the two teams also will be playing for Ted Dalton Memorial Trophy, the Raiders the current holders.

Whoever loses this game is out for season 2005 while the winner goes on next weekend to play the loser of the Jets/Bulls match.
