Shipway To Fight Dangerous Throw Charge

Manly forward Mark Shipway will contest a dangerous throw charge at the National Rugby League judiciary tomorrow night.

While Eagles teammate Grant Wooden today opted to plead guilty to a careless high tackle and accept a two-match suspension, Shipway will fight to escape a ban.

He's desperate to take on St George Illawarra at WIN Stadium on Sunday as the Eagles look to end their winless start to the season. Shipway will be outed for three games if found guilty of a grade one dangerous throw on Wests Tigers prop Corey Pearson.

Wooden's grade two careless high tackle was on West's fullback Joel Caine in the Eagles' 38-12 loss at Brookvale Oval on Sunday.
