SMITH SET TO BECOME A WILDCAT

Australian half-back Tim Smith will join Wakefield Trinity Wildcats on a one-year deal subject to a successful visa application.

The former Wigan Warriors man will return to Super League with the Wildcats and add to new Head Coach Richard Agar's options at half-back following the signings of Isaac John and Kyle Wood in recent weeks.

Smith, 26, began his professional career at Parramatta Eels and picked up the 2005 Dally M Rookie of the Year award.

After 71 appearances for the Eels, Smith moved to Super League with the Warriors in 2008 ahead of returning to the NRL where he made 19 appearances for Cronulla Sharks, crossing the whitewash on five occasions.

After limited opportunities to impress in 2011 he now returns to the Northern Hemisphere determined to reignite his career.
