Steve Crouch suspended for one
match

The NRL judiciary tonight reached a guilty verdict for Steve Crouch from Parramatta who was contesting a grade one dangerous throw.

Crouch has been suspended for one match and will miss this Friday night's game against the Newcastle Knights.

The Eels forward was placed on report following a lifting tackle on Dragons forward, Craig Stapleton who was forced from the field in the 47th minute of Sunday's match at WIN Stadium.

Crouch was also placed on report for a head high tackle in the 45th minute which saw Saints hooker, Mark Riddell leave the field with a gashed chin. Riddell was able to complete the match after receiving stitches.

Less than three minutes later, Crouch delivered a tackle which saw Stapleton come within a whisker of being speared tackled.

Stapleton was later diagnosed with having a damaged a AC joint and will be sidelined for up to eight weeks.
