Storm give
Souths another hiding

Fulltime score: Round 10 Rabbitohs 12 v Storm 38

Match summary: The Melbourne Storm have thrashed a woeful South Sydney side 38-12 at Aussie Stadium this evening.

South Sydney are doing their level best to wrest the wooden spoon favouritism from the Knights as they continue to give the critics ammunition with dreadful performances week in, week out. Their poor form comes at a time when the NRL are considering expanding the competition and people have rightly raised the question of Souths inclusion at the expense of another team willing to deliver results to the fans.

The Storm did enough to win the game without ever having to get out of second gear and move within sight of the top four. The only disappointing aspect for the Storm tonight was their poor goalkicking record which could have seen them reach fifty points had they been on target. Souths will be lucky to win another game all year and once the Knights start getting their injured players back, they are sure to overtake Souths and leave them with their fourth wooden spoon since their re-admission back in 2002.

With Souths languishing in fourteenth position and the club and coach openly stating players are playing for contracts, it has becomne patently obvious there is no pride left in the myrtle and green and that the players are simply going through the motions.
